The information inside the book is wonderful and beautiful. The images are fascinating and so wonderfully detailed but the only problem I have is with the cover. When I received the book, the silver part of the cover was peeling off, on the back and forth. The cover was also scratched up so that was really disappointing. The outside had no appeal but the inside had plenty of appeal.

Book is really great. However, i was a bit disappointed that the book looks used. The dust jacket is torn on edges. I expected that the whole book is wrapped in plastic to protect itself. The book itself [sans the dust jacket] is fine.

This book is a complete of resource with large sections on anatomy with large full 2-page illustrations, a section on how the body works, another section on the whole life cycle, and finishing with a section on diseases and disorders. Each section has numerous colorful illustrations and photos. The text is written so a lay person can understand it but also includes the terms that medical professionals might use. I like the size of the illustrations and the detail in identifying all the parts. The book is large – 10” by 12″. The paper used is very high quality. My only negative comment is that the book is very heavy weighing in at over 5 lbs.

I’m getting old, and with that comes a lot of postural, muscular, and neurological issues. I’ve been going to a massage therapist for about 15 years, who has kept me walking comfortably. I recently had to be referred to a wonderful physical therapist. At one point in my therapy she pulled out this book, and I commented on how nicely illustrated and organized it was. She said that a friend of hers had given it to her when she got her doctorate in PT, and it was her absolute favorite reference.

Well, I recently found out that my massage therapist was about to have her 40th birthday, and this book came to mind as a great present. I checked her shelves to make sure that she didn’t already have it, and surprised her with the gift at my appointment 2 days before her birthday. She loves it.

I was concerned about ordering it because so many of the past reviews had said that the book arrived damaged. In my case, it had some air cushions (those air-filled plastic tiny packing pillows) in the box to keep the book from rattling around in the box, and it arrived in perfect condition.

I last took a&p about 12 yrs ago and looking for something I could get as a refresher. I’m most likely going to have to retake that class depending on what what school I end up going to. I’m wanting to get into nursing and or paramedic school. For those people who are visual learners this book is for you. I got it yesterday, so I haven’t truly gone through in any sort of depth yet. I was expecting more of a text book so in some respects this book isn’t what I thought I was getting. On the other hand I’m not at all disappointed in getting this book.

Cool book, but it should be shrink wrapped. It has some water damage from misplacement by the shipper during a storm. It would be wasteful to request a replacement, but would be nice if I could get a discount. Otherwise, still looks like enjoyable content inside. A diagram of the anatomy of a cell got me pretty excited.

I received my hardcover book today. Wow! It is bigger and heavier than I expected. It has great illustrations and is packed with a ton of information. This is just what I was looking for. So why buy this instead of looking online? I hate looking at screens. Not to mention all the info is in one book in front of me rather than a bunch of different websites. It’s much easier to flip back and forth in a book. Which IMO will save me time and also keep my eyes from straining.

I rank this book high as a supplemental study resource. Perfect companion to an A & P textbook. As a standalone product the imagery is fantastic, but the textual content doesn’t go deep on any given topic.

As someone keenly interested in understanding the intricacies of the human body, “The Complete Human Body: The Definitive Visual Guide” proved to be an exceptional resource. Rather than reading like a textbook, this book skillfully combines detailed information with stunning visuals.

One of the standout features of this book is its visual presentation. The illustrations are not only beautiful but also incredibly informative. How each system and structure is intricately depicted makes it easier to grasp complex concepts. This visual approach breathes life into the subject, making it much more engaging than traditional text-heavy resources.

What sets this book apart is its accessible language. The authors have managed to convey complex medical information in a manner that’s understandable to readers from various backgrounds. There’s an absence of jargon, and the explanations are clear and concise. Whether you’re a medical student seeking to reinforce your knowledge or simply a curious individual interested in learning about the human body, this book caters to a wide range of audiences.

“The Complete Human Body” takes a holistic approach by covering the anatomical aspects and delving into the physiological and functional aspects of each system. It addresses questions you might not have thought to ask, deepening your understanding of how our bodies work as integrated systems.

While the book is comprehensive, it’s manageable. The content is well-organized, allowing readers to navigate the sections easily. You can dive deep into specific systems or take a broader look at the entire human body.

One minor area of improvement could be the inclusion of more recent medical discoveries or advancements. Given that the medical field is constantly evolving, an occasional update to reflect the latest findings might add more value to this remarkable resource.

In a world where health and wellness are becoming increasingly important, “The Complete Human Body: The Definitive Visual Guide” is a must-have reference. Its captivating visuals, approachable language, and comprehensive coverage make it an enlightening journey into the marvels of our own biology. Whether you’re a casual learner or a dedicated enthusiast, this book deserves a spot on your shelf.

I am a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor and I used this book all through my certification process. It has wonderful, mostly computer generated, pictures that are LARGE and extremely detailed. There are some photographs of conditions, X-rays and microscopic elements of the human body as well. The Complete Human Body Book is written in sections: The Integrated Body, Anatomy, How the Body Works, Life Cycle and Diseases and Disorders. In the back of the book you will find an extensive glossary and index for easy referencing. After I got my certification I found that I used this as a reference book and often share it with others to help further their understanding of the human body. I HIGHLY recommend this book!!

Great book for getting into learning about the human body. Wish it went into more detail about certain body systems and structures but hey you get what you pay for.

  20. BookerZ (verified owner)

I’m having fun looking this over. I’m not a guy who studied anatomy in school, so this is very handy. It’s nice to look at big pictures instead of the Smartphone.

What a beautiful book. I have been a nurse for 15 years and wanted this book to review some of the things we whizzed through in a&p oh so long ago. What a surprise to get this large, beautiful book with a plethora of information that starts with our very evolution. It is a coffee table book for nerds and I recommend it for all you science lovers who also enjoy a good picture book.

I got this one to replace the one my brother gave me that was 2nd edition. This book is excellent for answering questions about the body if you have curious kids or even adults. I have found it to be very useful and just very cool to have around.

  30. Bre (verified owner)

I love this book but I’m giving it 4 stars because I’ve noticed misspelled words. Even the cover should say updated but it says udpdated makes me question what other errors were over looked seeing that was in the cover of the book
